hTAU tg Mice TAU441
hTAU transgenic mice over-express TAU441 bearing the missense mutations V337M and R406W under the control of the brain specific murine Thy-1 promoter. This human mutated TAU isoform is expressed in high levels and the TAU pathology in visible in early age, starting at 4 months. Severity of the brain pathology correlates with increasing age and behavioral deficits whereas no motor deficits occur.
JSW hTAU tg mice are a suitable model to study the influence of drugs on TAU phosphorylation, sequestration and deposition.
