Stroke - Ischemic culture models
We offer different cell culture models inducing ischemic-like injuries in vitro. The established methods are suitable to test compounds that are expeceted to act during, directly after or during a recovery period.
Embryonic neuronal cultures and neuron/glia co-cultures are specifically treated to mimic ischemic lesions and stroke in vitro:
- L-glutamate lesion
- Kainate lesion
- NMDA lesion
- Oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)
Cultures are analysed for cell survival, apoptotic and necrotic phenotypes and disease specific markers (see Analyses of culture models).
